Not so long ago, our advice to the executor (personal representative) of an estate was to keep an eye on the mail addressed to the decedent in order to identify the decedent’s assets.  With the advent of the internet, our advice to executors about identifying a decedent’s assets is now a lot more complicated.  And so is our advice to people working on their estate planning.  Digital assets pose new complexities for planning and for estate and trust administration.  And the law regarding digital assets is still developing.  Hilton & Bishop attorneys can help you with how to handle digital assets.
